    Are there any health risks associated with intra oral scanning?
    Absolutely not, the process involves a series of specially calibrated photographic images using a handheld scanner and no x-rays are involved.

    Will I feel any discomfort?
    There is no sensation at all; you just required keeping your mouth open for a short period of time.

    How long does the process take?
    To scan a patient’s complete mouth takes about 10 minutes and this is greatly reduced when working with single teeth.

    At Loughborough Road we use two portable intraoral scanners, Carestream 3500/3600 which integrate directly with our computerized practice management system.

    3D scanned files of teeth are stored securely and confidentially within your records, so in the case of accidental damage a replacement restoration can be manufactured without any need for patients to attend the surgery.

    All digital restorations carry a full five year full replacement warranty.
